Commissionaires BC is looking for a part-time Security Professional to join our team providing security services for Alaska Airlines at the Kelowna International Airport. This position is part-time (20-30 hours per week) and will fill day and early evening shifts at Alaska Airlines. Duties involve security interviews with passengers, asking a range of questions and making decisions based on response. Security interview training will be provided.

Commissionaires provides security services for over 200 sites and are located in over 110 communities across the province. Our client base runs from the Federal Government to local municipalities, airports, industrial sectors, and commercial/residential buildings.

Some of your responsibilities include:
  • Completing security screening of passengers
  • Offering first class customer service to both clients and general public
  • Access Control
  • Proactively responding to and resolving emergency situations and conflicts
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate logs and incident reports
  • Effectively communicating problems or concerns to the Site Supervisor
Your Must-Haves:
  • BC Security License
  • You have excellent problem solving skills
  • You can work under pressure
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods
Your Nice-To-Haves:
  • You have a valid Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract
  • You have resided in Canada for the last five years
  • Hold OFA 1 or OFA 2

D-Prize For Medical Oxygen Maintenance In Sub-Saharan African Countries

Provide maintenance for oxygen concentrators in rural and peri-urban Sub-Saharan African health clinics and hospitals

Half the world lacks access to medical oxygen – a basic and critical treatment for numerous ailments. Oxygen concentrators are machines that produce medical oxygen in low-resource settings and are being distributed at a large scale – yet without maintenance, many will soon be at risk of breaking down. Can you develop a team of technicians to service existing oxygen concentrators? D-Prize will award up to $20,000 to help teams launch an initial three-month pilot of this idea.

ELIGIBILITY

  • D-Prize is for aspiring entrepreneurs from anywhere in the world, of any age, and any background.
  • D-Prize will consider funding existing organizations only if: you are piloting a new distribution-focused initiative, and you need high risk capital.

EVALUATION PROCESS

ROUND 1

Submit your concept note and resume(s).  We generally receive 1000 submissions a competition.

ROUND 2

Top 5% of entrepreneurs are invited to submit a full 10 page proposal. You will have  four weeks to draft and submit.

FINAL ROUND  

Top entrepreneurs interview via phone and email.  The top 1-2% will receive up to $20,000 to launch.

LAUNCH

You will spend the next three months using your talent to start a venture that can grow and help millions of people.

TIMELINE

Select a challenge above and be prepared for the following deadlines:

  • The Global Competition launches on September 8th, 2020.
  • Early Submission Deadline: October 18th, 2020 at midnight PT (pacific time)
  • Regular Submission Deadline: November 8th, 2020 at midnight PT (pacific time)
  • Extension Deadline (limited to 200 people who register): November 29th, 2020 at midnight PT (pacific time)
