The business is an internationally known operator of one of the world’s largest specialist Cherry suppliers growing extremely high-quality cherries alongside top fruit on significant scale in one of the world’s most stunning locations of British Columbia in the West of Canada. They are using cutting-edge production techniques and varieties to produce absolute premium quality for the most discerning of global retail customers.

Due to continued development they are now looking to source an experienced Farm Manager to help drive further growth and development of the site through to its next stages of evolution.

Full day-to-day management a farm of this quality is not for the faint hearted! Compiling and maintaining budgets, including forward crop planning and technical audit management will need to come naturally to the successful individual.

You will have accountability for the annual budget and create robust plans for existing operations and profitable development of the business including possible future land acquisitions.

You will manage full time and temporary staff effectively for optimum efficiency, while maintaining a safe environment for all.

This farm never sits still, a highly progressive attitude towards growing is essential, as you will be expected to seek out and adopt new and innovative fruit growing techniques, always striving for continuous improvement in quality.

You will be expected to report results and present plans to owners, consistently and clearly. Shrinking violets need not apply!

This senior appointment requires a strong leader with a comprehensive understanding of modern protected growing techniques and excellent team building capability. If you also speak Spanish, that would be a distinct advantage!

Meat Cutter Needed At Jowett Farms

Jowett Farms Corporation is a growing company located within the beautiful town of Blumenort, Manitoba – just a 35-minute commute from Winnipeg. We are convinced we have the best people to work with! As a meat processing plant, we may not offer the most exquisite jobs, but we do offer a fantastic working environment and a “long weekend” EVERY week. We are excited to be adding MEAT CUTTERS and INDUSTRIAL BUTCHERS to our team. These positions will be based in our brand-new processing plant with a state of the art design. This processing plant is the first of its kind to Canada.

MEAT CUTTERS:

These positions are responsible for deboning and cutting meat in our sow plant. Previous experience in a meat processing plant is preferred. Previous knife skills are required. Ability to maintain line speeds is also required. Wages will be dependent on previous experience. The hours for this position will be Monday to Thursday from 7am – 5:30pm, with some flexibility based on our processing requirements.

INDUSTRIAL BUTCHERS:

These positions are responsible for the harvesting and butchering activities on our slaughter floor, according to our SSOPs, GMPs and HACCP Program. We are looking to hire those that have an excellent work ethic, and are comfortable using knives and other cutting equipment. Ability to maintain line speeds is also required. Although previous experience within a food plant is desirable, we are willing to train that person who will bring the right attitude. The hours for this position will be Monday to Thursday from 6am – 4:30pm, with some flexibility based on our processing requirements.

Applicants must have an excellent work ethic, an outstanding attendance record and must work well within a team. The ability to work at fast pace but still maintain effective work is important.
