We are looking for result oriented, highly adaptable individuals that enjoy tackling various tasks in a team setting environment and also reliable. Whether freight or handling baggage, or operating complex loading equipment, the Station Attendants surely play a key role in ensuring that all the aircraft are perfectly ready for a secure and on time departure.

This job is a permanent full-time position. Currently the salary is $14.00/hr as per the collective agreement.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and drive ramp-servicing vehicles and equipment. 

• Marshal or tow aircraft to gate positions for passenger deplaning and boarding and for unloading and loading of cargo and passenger baggage.

Qualifications

• Available for irregular work and shift work hours- early mornings, weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays.

• Must be able to lift heavy objects repetitively and unaided weighing up to 70 pounds (32 kilograms).

• Must have the willingness to work under various climatic conditions.

• Must have the capacity to work within strict timelines so as to maintain on-time departures while ensuring safety at all times.

• Should be eligible to work in Canada. If you hold a work permit, then it must be valid for at least a minimum of 12 months.

• Possess a valid driver’s license (G2 or G).

• Should be available to attend a 4 – 6 weeks full time mandatory training.

• Obtain the Transport Canada security card and pass security clearance.

• Employees in this role, conduct safety-critical work and as such, Individual must meet Air Canada medical standards to qualify for the role. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including alcohol and drug test and are expected to be free of any intoxicating substances.

Provide maintenance for oxygen concentrators in rural and peri-urban Sub-Saharan African health clinics and hospitals

Half the world lacks access to medical oxygen – a basic and critical treatment for numerous ailments. Oxygen concentrators are machines that produce medical oxygen in low-resource settings and are being distributed at a large scale – yet without maintenance, many will soon be at risk of breaking down. Can you develop a team of technicians to service existing oxygen concentrators? D-Prize will award up to $20,000 to help teams launch an initial three-month pilot of this idea.

ELIGIBILITY

  • D-Prize is for aspiring entrepreneurs from anywhere in the world, of any age, and any background.
  • D-Prize will consider funding existing organizations only if: you are piloting a new distribution-focused initiative, and you need high risk capital.

EVALUATION PROCESS

ROUND 1

Submit your concept note and resume(s).  We generally receive 1000 submissions a competition.

ROUND 2

Top 5% of entrepreneurs are invited to submit a full 10 page proposal. You will have  four weeks to draft and submit.

FINAL ROUND  

Top entrepreneurs interview via phone and email.  The top 1-2% will receive up to $20,000 to launch.

LAUNCH

You will spend the next three months using your talent to start a venture that can grow and help millions of people.

  • Early Submission Deadline: October 18th, 2020 at midnight PT (pacific time)
